I like that it appears the bosses all use the same Gear System as Mega Man, but with varied results. It would be great if Capcom eventually gives us DLC so we can play through the game as Proto Man, Bass and - even if I'm not his biggest fan - Duo. It would be even better if they used this to test new features that might get passed onto the Blue Bomber next game, including the alternate Gear options. I'd say I'm being demanding, but I'm actually just proposing Capcom do the smart thing they do with their Fighting Games. It used to be annoying because you'd have to buy entirely new versions of a title just a year apart - hello, Street Fighter II - but now you can release it all as a DLC upgrade for returning customers and a slightly more expensive "new game" to newcomers.
I would hope that Capcom already has at least a tiny bit of DLC planned for the title, even if I'm stingy and don't like having to buy the DLC separately. My budget is extremely tight, so I'll already probably have to wait a year or two before Mega Man 11 goes on sale on Steam or the like. I still think it might be better to pull a (much less slow) Shovel Knight and give us a reworked game that keeps mostly the same assets but stays fresh due to stage tweaks and a new main character to play as with new abilities. This is actually a good way to train a secondary team for work on a franchise; they handle this stuff while the main team takes a short break before diving into the sequel.
Yeah, folks will probably expect Bass and/or Protoman DLC in short order, but Capcom just needs to find a rhythm that works and keep giving us our Mega Man fix without these insane gaps. XD
