Hello fellow forum dwellers!
My apologies for not posting the announcement of Mega Man 11 as news - I stupidly figured someone else would do it - but I'm here to make sure you all know that the October 2nd release date has been confirmed, and it also appears that a digital copy of the game will cost $29.99 USD, at least in the USA. Feel free to post news announcements for the game and enjoy the general discussion about it in this thread. If things get too messy, we'll break it all up at that point.
I will allow speculation among the discussion but keep it clear. In fact, I'll start with examples of both. First is another fact: We know that the electricity-themed Robot Master is named "Fuse Man" and the brick-themed one is "Block Man". An early leak claimed the latter was "Brick Man". I think that name suits him better, which makes me wonder if Capcom changed the name because of the leak (but probably not).
Another fact is that Capcom showed off some goodies of what comes with the Collector's Edition of the game you can buy at GameStop. One of the items includes has the Stage Select screen printed on it, but with the names blurred out. Supposedly, someone has successfully unblurred them. If this is true, the additional bosses are:
- Acid Man
- Blast Man
- Bounce Man
- Impact Man
- Torch Man
- Tundra Man
Some of these seem legit, and I'm trying to figure out if reusing the alternative names for certain NetNavi's in the Mega Man: NT Warrior series makes this more or less probable. Could be a wink and a nod to the fans that this is a prank, could be Capcom making use of intellectual property they already own, possibly to retain the rights; as a Transformers fan, I'm used to that happening. As someone who thought those were pretty good names back when the NT Warrior animation was still airing, I'd be happy with them.
Update (20180820): Not that this is breaking news at this point, but by now Blast Man and Torch Man have been confirmed as the correct names for the explosion and fire themed Robot Masters, respectively.
