Hello fellow forum dwellers!
My apologies for not posting the announcement of Mega Man 11 as news - I stupidly figured someone else would do it - but I'm here to make sure you all know that the October 2nd release date has been confirmed, and it also appears that a digital copy of the game will cost $29.99 USD, at least in the USA. Feel free to post news announcements for the game and enjoy the general discussion about it in this thread. If things get too messy, we'll break it all up at that point.
I will allow speculation among the discussion but keep it clear. In fact, I'll start with examples of both. First is another fact: We know that the electricity-themed Robot Master is named "Fuse Man" and the brick-themed one is "Block Man". An early leak claimed the latter was "Brick Man". I think that name suits him better, which makes me wonder if Capcom changed the name because of the leak (but probably not).
Another fact is that Capcom showed off some goodies of what comes with the Collector's Edition of the game you can buy at GameStop. One of the items includes has the Stage Select screen printed on it, but with the names blurred out. Supposedly, someone has successfully unblurred them. If this is true, the additional bosses are:
- Acid Man
- Blast Man
- Bounce Man
- Impact Man
- Torch Man
- Tundra Man
Some of these seem legit, and I'm trying to figure out if reusing the alternative names for certain NetNavi's in the Mega Man: NT Warrior series makes this more or less probable. Could be a wink and a nod to the fans that this is a prank, could be Capcom making use of intellectual property they already own, possibly to retain the rights; as a Transformers fan, I'm used to that happening. As someone who thought those were pretty good names back when the NT Warrior animation was still airing, I'd be happy with them.
Update (20180820): Not that this is breaking news at this point, but by now Blast Man and Torch Man have been confirmed as the correct names for the explosion and fire themed Robot Masters, respectively.

Still waiting for a classic Thunder Man.
But they do seem to be using some BN stuff. FireMan was renamed to Torch Man, whom we see here now. Also I think Bomb Man was called Blast Man in MMBN.

Bomb Man was renamed to Blasterman in BN. BN6 introduced a new Navi by the name of Blastman though, so it's nice to see it again.
Also, I see you mentioned a digital copy, but not a physical one. I hope that's purely because a physical copy will be assumed to also be released, as I don't want to have to buy a digital version.
I'm definitely looking forward to this and hope it means an X game in the future as well.

There is physical for Xbox, Switch, and PS4. I was torn on what console to get it on but gamestop (whom I hate) had an exclusive deal with an amiibo and other thingys with a switch copy. So that's what I'm getting. Cost me 64 and some change for it all. I think the amiibo is being sold separately for 18 bucks, so I'll likely grab one to mod.

Sweet. I'll be getting it for the Switch then. Already planning on getting one, so that's just convenient.
I wonder if Proto Man and Bass will be playable. Or if the Super Adaptor will come back.

Rush Coil has been confirmed, possibly the Rush Jet as well. Which may mean no Super Adaptor. The good news? The videos I saw said that buster, Boss Weapons, and Rush are all mapped to separate buttons! Changing Weapons now uses the Right Analog stick, with one of the eight major directions mapped to a weapon. L and R are used for the new Dual Gear system, which allows for powering up your attacks or entering bullet time. You can even do both at once, but at a cost.

To be fair, the only game that had the Super Adaptor also had the Rush Coil and Jet, along with the Rush Search. It probably won't have it. I just want to use it again.
Bullet Time?

I'm quite torn about which console to purchase the game for. It's unclear to me if the game is made to control well with an analogue stick, or if it will be best played with a d-pad. I'd like to play it on Switch if the joycons will be precise enough (Celeste was made with analogue control in mind, but I still feel like the joycons made it a bit more difficult than it had to be), but with the Legacy Collection I can only play comfortably on PS4 because of the d-pad placement and quality. Yet I don't just want to get it for PS4 without more knowledge, because the analogue stick placement on the Dual Shock controllers is also pretty uncomfortable (damn tendonitis!). Is there any info available as to whether the 11 will be best played with a d-pad? I might just have to wait for reviews rather than preorder...

Maybe I'm using the term wrong, but I thought "bullet time" was another term for the "good" kind of slowdown in games. If you can watch the Pre-Order Trailer they explain it.

Ah! I hadn't seen that trailer yet. Yeah, I think bullet Time is the appropriate term. That's pretty sweet and seems to imply that it's damaging Rock. Maybe this will explain what happens to him?

If you mean that using the gears might kill him by the end of the game, Capcom is NOT going to do that. There's no way. At most, they'll milk it for a dramatic close call at the end, and it will be understood that Dr. Light completely repaired him as necessary afterward.

I meant more along the lines of Proto Man in Battle & Fighters, where they bring up his unstable core eventually killing him. They haven't shown it happen yet so they can milk him for all he's worth, but we still now know why he doesn't make it to the next series. I thought they might do something like that for Rock, considering the dialogue.

Maybe, but I can't see them giving Mega Man himself a death sentence, delayed or not. This is supposed to be the light-hearted series, after all.

That's fair.
They've known how the series connect since at least before X4. They know we wanna know, so they won't tell us. XD
What do you guys think of the boss fights shown so far? I might prefer the Block Man fight over Fuse Man.

With that big body, Block Man wins for creativity. Fuse Man wins for sheer hecticness.
