It was gonna be made eventually, so I decided to do it before RJZ got back and made it himself. This is for discussing the games in all their glory. Breeding, battling, raising, etc. Anyone else excited for X & Y? I didn't really care for Black and White (although B2/W2 were great), but after following X & Y, I can't wait to pick it up on release day! I already pre-ordered Y, so for anyone getting X, let me know!

I preordered Y and my best friend is preordering X, so we're planning to catch at least one version exclusive Pokémon, train it to a specific level, and then trade. I've always wanted to do that.
Every day the wait is getting harder and harder for me. Now that the Kanto starters have mega evolutions it's almost unbearable. My God, I want mega Venasaur so bad!

Personally, I'm one of those who're totally pro-gen1/gen2 including their remakes. Never cared much for the other generations but X will get a place in my 3DS collection for sure Currently, I replay Soul Silver again, good stuff!

Sweetness! As soon as I get a 3DS, we should exchange friend codes. My brother is getting X, so I'll have access to version exclusives that way, but we miss almost all the events thanks to outside interference. I'm trying to avoid that this time. XD

I guess I'll play "the bad guy" by being the one to point out that no, I am not especially excited about the Gen VI games. Some of the Pokémon look interesting, but the Mega mechanic only fits because it leaves me asking " Pokémon why?". Now, for those that have been happy with the overall direction of Pokémon, this looks like it should be great. I am someone who loved the earlier games but each "generation" seems to leave the same "mistakes" that shouldn't have been a part of the series from the start or at least should have gone by the wayside in an earlier generation. The taxonomy of the Pokémon series is frustrating, forcing Pokémon into "roles" for the sake of consistency with a nonsensical hierarchy, and the combat mechanics were outdated in Gen 1, though tolerable as it was merely an original Game Boy game. I'll spare you all the rest of the rant, and be a bit positive; I am hoping that Honedge inspires an Ability that allows it to be used as a Pokémon Tool, because that would be awesome. Imagine something like a Machoke wielding a Honedge! It would even make sense retroactively for a few Pokémon.

I'm familiar with your problems with the Pokemon franchise, Otaku, but I don't personally have a problem with the overall style of gameplay in it. The ONLY reason I haven't posted my friend code yet is because I've been unable to afford a 3DS. I even already have Y. All of the frustrating aspects from previous Pokemon games have been made a lot more bearable thanks to you being able to physically see them.
