I know we all want MM legends 3 to get another look, but maybe if they took the time to reboot ( or more touch up) the legends series with gaming tech we have now. More fans could be drawn back, and possibly newer followers.
Then they could have a reason to take another look at MM legends 3.

To be perfectly honest, they probably won't touch Legends for a while after the Inafune incident, considering that was his main work focus while he worked at Capcom.
We have a better shot at X9 since they know we want it and that's not a very good chance at all.

Remember that I have no special insight or knowledge, the next most likely Mega Man titles, if Mega Man 11 does well are:
1) Mega Man 12 2) Mega Man X9 3) Mega Man Legacy Collection 3 and 4
If Mega Man 11 succeeds in getting Mega Man back on track, I hope Capcom learns its lesson by alternating franchises and spacing them out so they aren't cannibalizing each other's production resources or sales. I don't know if every series needs to continue, because I just don't know all the series as well as I know certain ones. I'm hoping Mega Man X9 is next, and if Capcom needs yearly Mega Man titles, they realize that they need to alternate franchises and squeeze out whatever collections/remakes they can do competently.
I'm guessing we need another "big" title next, and I'd actually like the Classic Series to have time to get a proper sequel and not a rushed job. Even if they aren't willing to go to Shovel Knight levels, releasing Proto Man and Bass DLC are hopefully no-brainers. Slightly less obvious (for them, not a fanboy like me) would be DLC for Roll and Duo. I mean, I never got to play Mega Man: Powered Up, but on paper, that game had this at least mostly correct with each Robot Master unlockable plus DLC for most of the characters I just mentioned. Unless the Legacy Collection games are way more resource intensive than I realized, follow-ups containing the miscellaneous remaining titles might be welcome... though the quality doesn't just dip but plummets for some of what is left, so maybe not.
Mega Man X9 seems like the safest bet, assuming Capcom doesn't bite off more than it can chew by tackling it so soon. Reboots for certain franchises DO make sense, but I'm sorry Legends fans: Battle Network is just a better candidate. That series was riding high for quite a while, and seems like a great fit for the Switch (not that any of these are ill-suited to that console). Actually, the one that might make more sense to reboot is an odd one; I mentioned how game quality plummets for some of the remaining obscure side games. So, what if we got proper remakes of some of them, with the original trash versions included for posterity?
The big thing is for Capcom to just be upfront about this. I don't like us being held hostage, and I do eventually want Capcom to settle into a solid groove, releasing a new title in each of its subseries barring the subseries that overlap too much e.g. either Battle Network or Star Force, Zero or ZX. I just know if they try to go back to one of each a year, or one of each over two years, they'll burn themselves and the fans out too quickly. At most, one of these per year (perhaps with a side game, be it original or a reboot).

I agree with most of this, but I have to correct something.
We have about a 0% chance of another Zero or ZX game. The company in charge of those was Inti Creates and they had a massive falling out with Capcom and Nintendo. ZX3 was planned and will not happen. It's also why none of the ZX or major Zero characters even appear as trophies in Smash Bros.
ZX is my favorite game in the franchise, but I've accepted we're never getting another one.

Yeah, I had no knowledge of this. I will present the counter cliche of "Never say never." but if that sounds silly, I mean "never:" 20 years from now, things may change.
Who owns the various intellectual assets around the Zero and ZX series? If Capcom owns them, they'll likely dust them off sooner or later (and again, "later" measures time in decades). If Inti Creates owns everything except the actual games and characters created before their work (like Zero and X) then yeah, its dead unless Capcom and Inti Creates get to a place where they can stand each other enough again.
Second question; was ZX3 really canceled because of this feud? Looking at the release dates for ZX and ZX Advent, Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10 (both by Inti Creates) released after. In fact, by two and three years, respectively... so I wouldn't be surprised if ZX3 was just effectively canceled before this point, and the two parting ways simply made it official. I don't know that, so if you do know that ZX3 was supposed to be hot on the heels of Mega Man 10, tell me!

About ZX3, they never even finished ZXA. What we got was a rushed product out the door because their deadline got shot way up last minute. Capcom could make a ZX3 is they wanted to, but aren't because they're being petty.
However, considering the inclusion of Vent as a spirit in Smash Bros, it appears Inti has at least made up with Nintendo. And their newest game, Dragon Marked For Death, is on the Switch and is an exclusive, so that basically confirms it.
If, and this a big if, Inti can make up with Capcom again, we have a chance at a ZX3.
Legends 3 won't happen as long as Capcom and Inafune aren't talking though. Legends was Inafune's prized series and they will absolutely bury that series just to spite him. Unfortunate as that may be.

Pity Capcom doesn't understand the best revenge is making the Legends series awesome without Inafune. I mean, remember Inafune's "pining" for Mega Man and how "his creation" was under someone else's control in Inafune's Kickstarter video for Mighty No. 9.
