So I am a One Piece fan, but financial difficulties mean that I no longer can get the manga and I don't have cable, so I have just one source for it: watching episodes of the anime online. Specifically I watch on Hulu (barring a few episodes I've watched on Funimations own site because they were skipped by Hulu). Unfortunately for whatever reason, Hulu has a 99 episode gap that covers the end of the current story arc and I am not sure how many other story arcs (they have episode 291 up, but then it jumps to episode 391).
So I have a question for One Piece fans and/or those with similar experiences from other series: do I wait or do I just go on?
I know some similar sites will take down older episodes due to various contract restrictions (can only have X episodes available at a time). On Hulu, they appear to be adding two of the missing episodes per week while also adding one new episode. I haven't noticed any being taken down... yet. I've been at this gap for about two weeks now. At the rate they are going, it will be almost a full year before the gap is closed... which means even if current policy isn't an issue, future developments might cause issue.
I've already experienced a few "spoilers" because I've blundered into them. Knowing just the basics of what happens doesn't worry me too much, due in part to what has already been spoiled (trying not to get into details). I also don't know how often the "new episode" amount significantly varies; if there are going to be a stream of no missing episode/one missing episode weeks, that is not appealing. If the amount increases, this becomes less and less an issue. There is some feedback options for Hulu to request they obtain more episodes, but as I only really started watching stuff regularly on Hulu a few months ago I don't know how well they work.
