I actually really enjoyed playing as X I MvC:I. His moveset made sense and he combos really well with Zero. And considering how vastly important he was in the story mode, I'm cool with that too.

Only thing that bugged me, and there's nothing we can really do about this, is that I miss Mark Gatha as his VA. And he's not coming back.
