I'll do a quick review since the boards aren't that active nowadays. Slight spoilers ahead.
The gameplay isn't all that bad and the story is basically just Megaman 1 rehashed, so it's not too bad. I found myself enjoying it, even with its mind numbing difficulty. I'll break it into sections and do the review that way.
Plot: Like I said, it's the original Megaman with the twist that they help you afterwards. Rehash Wily steals and reprograms a bunch of robots, then it falls on rehash Light and his assistant, jolly fat scientist. It's up to Beck to stop them and knock them back into their senses. I haven't finished the game yet, but I'm going to assume that you defeat the big bad and he gets away. No Protoman or Bass characters so far, but I'm willing to give it another level or two. The dialogue is atrocious, but the plot overall is okay.
Gameplay: This game went from being unbelievably easy to obnoxiously hard back to stupid easy all within the same level. Every level. The weakness order so far makes about as much sense as MM3's order. Fire beats ice. Cool. Ice beat bullets. Shadow beats lightning. Testing out weakness weapons on different bosses wouldn't feel like so much of a chore if levels weren't as long and tedious as they were in X6. Let me save you some frustration and let you know that you can dash at an angle, but it requires some timing so you dash straight ahead into wall of spikes or enemy shot. This also makes some jumps actually possible if you didn't immediately figure out what to do in the split second you needed to do it before the path breaks on you. Boss fights aren't all that hard, but your main way of dealing major damage, your dash, hurts you without hurting them, so you're relying on your weak unchargeable buster. It doesn't take much strategy to beat each boss, but fights will take a while without their weakness, which you have almost no way of restoring. Fun, but also frustrating.
Replayability: Same as your standard Megaman game, without any bonus stuff. There are time trials, which are cool, but the game feels incomplete.
Music: Not all that bad, but it gets drowned out by the active noises (movement, shooting, exploding, etc) most of the time, so unless you stand perfectly still, you probably won't hear most of it.
Overall: The game is extremely dug into the "Okay" category. It's not what I expected, but it's not awful either. It just feels incomplete.
