I don't know why.... I truly don't know why XD, but I just RECENTLY started buying and reading Archie's Mega Man comics. I don't know what took me so long. I've been aware of its existence for a long time.
It's been really fun to read and see. Beautiful art, interesting stores. Maaaaaaaan.
I'm taking photos of things I find interesting in the comics (for example, have you noticed how sometimes there's reference text marked with a " * " but the page packs its explanation? I'm on volume 6 and I've seen that at least three times. Is that an editor's mistake? Is that normal in comics (yeah, btw, I'm new to actually owning and reading comics in general.... now I can't stop! Such a fun an affordable hobby, specially now that video games are becoming more expensive [at least in my country]) I DIGRESS! So yeah, and also I found interesting how in volume 5 (I think) [SPOILERS] the group falls down a cave in the arctic and get lost, but Ice Man follows the other's "BODY HEAT SIGNALS" to find them. They're machines, aren't they supposed to... not have heat signals? [END SPOILERS]. Also, on the comic gag at the end of vol. 6, Dr. Wily creates "ORAGAMI Man"... an origami robot... How come they could misspell such a popular word? Well, overall, that's the kind of stuff I find interesting and take photos of with my phone to keep a record, lol. Useless, but entertaining.
I reached the part of vol. 6 where the Worlds Collide Canon begins, and the comic makes sure you're aware of that... and even though the rest of the pages make sure you can follow up your read without immediately go check out Worlds Collide, something inside me just won't let me proceed without first read the crossover! Yeah, so, basically, I own vol. 1 to 8, but I'm voluntarily stuck in the middle of vol. 6 just because I want to read Worlds Collide first (ordered "the complete epic" book that releases in July... so I'll just paaaatiently wait). Stupid, I know, but it adds to the draaaaaaaama. I now kinda wanna start reading Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog and Universe too, but they're already so ahead in volumes that it would be quite expensive to catch up, but I decided I'll prioritize Mega Man and catch up on Sonic via big collection books and begin reading wherever they are since worlds collide and on.
Well, I just wanted to talk about my experience so far with the comics. They look so pretty in my MEGA MAN ONLY shelf next to all the other Mega Man memorabilia. I'm happy the comic is still an ongoing thing (unlike the games) and I'm also happy it's pretty affordable (unlike the figures).
Share your story is you want! I'm interested in how people from the US and the rest of the world get their hands on the comics, do they get them in volumes or by issues, how awesome it is to get them for crazy cheap in America, how crazy expensive it is to get them in other countries due to shipping rates, how non-English speakers deal with the comics being in English only, etc etc etc...
For everlasting peace, yo!
